He has a broad range of technical and business experience from working in both commercial and government environments. As a project engineer at International Business Machines Corporation, he developed hardware and software for IBM's analytical instrument product line. He was the lead software engineer on a large U.S. government space science project for Hughes Danbury Optical Systems, where he designed and developed automated instrumentation and control software.
